The detector, which comes with an incorporated pre-wired junction box, can be fitted using a conduit or cable and glands depending on individual site standards.
There are two basic configurations available. Flammable gas detectors offer mV bridge output for use with dedicated gas control systems such as Unipoint. This range of detector is ATEX certified for use in potentially explosive environments. Toxic and oxygen gas detectors are intended for use in a non-explosive environment. They are driven by a 2 wire 4-20mA loop and can be utilised with PLCs or specialised gas control systems.
Toxic and Oxygen versions of Signalpoint also provide a local LED indication of their status; periodic green flash (OK), flashing amber (warning) and flashing red (alarm). Seconds count and so the front end sensor design ensures fast speed of response even with ‘sticky’ gases.
Gas detectors are designed to be simple to install. The junction box has ‘hidden’ mounting for wall and ceiling fixtures. The junction box’s hinged lid allows both hands to be free to complete electrical connections via the M20 clearance cable/conduit entry.
